Tour downtown Houston by cell phone
Downtown Mobile Info, or DMI, lets you tour downtown Houston for free with a mobile phone as your guide. Start at the front of the Wortham Theater Center. Call 713-300-0892, follow the signs and press a number at each stop.
Most of it is along historic Buffalo Bayou. DMI takes you from the Wortham Theater Center to Sesquicentennial Park along historic Buffalo Bayou, to the skate park and to Sam Houston Park. One of the cool things about DMI is that you don't have to hear the same introductory message each time you call. It's a "smart" tour -- it knows that you already called.
